Fics like you fill my lungs with sweetness ( can i be close to you? )

“I should be getting home,” Steve murmurs, even though he knows he doesn’t need to be home. His parents aren’t there, and even if they were, they wouldn’t pay him any attention. Him starting his own shop was a hopeful shout at his father for the man to be proud of him. The only reaction he got was his father criticizing his choice of it being a flower shop. Steve hasn’t spoken to his father much since then. Eddie rubs the back of his neck. “Yeah, same here…You better drive safe, though.” Eddie looks at him pointedly when he says that. Steve smiles, “I will. You gotta promise to do the same, though.” He holds out his left pinky. Eddie looks at him with the fondest smile. Their pinkies lock, and Steve feels a bit fuzzy on the inside. or, steve and eddie own shops across the street from each other, and they might just be a little bit in love.
