Fics like i’ll bring you to the garden where we'd go and cleanse your soul. i’ll free you of this anger that you hold and i’ll make you whole. your memories aren’t your destiny.

Inspired by; Innocence by Nathan Wagner. ~~~~ She wouldn’t normally have worried too much when Kamilah reached her limit and shut down; after being married for as long as they’d been they knew each other inside and out. However on this night she’d noticed that the shut down had happened with none of the usual warning signs that it was approaching the second a bottle of red wine with a label that had faded beyond all legibility had passed her lips. It’d been like flipping a switch; one moment she’d been alert and affectionately rolling her eyes as Serafine ranted about her latest mortal sexual conquests, and the next her face had been so blank and pale she’d actually seemed ill. Kami didn’t have to explain to her what had happened when she’d taken a sip of the wine— even if she hadn’t refused to cut through Central Park on the way home like they always did, or if she wasn’t currently looking over her shoulder and eyeing the park behind them like it was filled with ghosts that only she could see. She’d have known the haunted look about her from a mile away.
