Fics like A Storm of Time and Ashes.

Book One of the ‘If You Met Me First’ trilogy. ~~~~ “My wife and I were happily married for a thousand years.” “A thousand years?” Cleopatra gasped, straightening in her throne. “What happened to her?” “She lost her,” one of the other women, Serafine, said. “It took me two-hundred-and-fifty years after losing my wife to invent a machine that allowed us to travel back from the future to save her,” Anastasia said once she’d managed to steel herself against her emotions. “We only meant to travel back to the night that she died but something went wrong and we wound up landing here twenty-six years ago now— our machine was broken beyond repair without modern technology and she was only four years old in the time that we arrived… so we’ve had no option but to bide our time and create lives for ourselves here.” “You mean to tell me you have essentially been without your wife for two-hundred-and-seventy-six years? That you have traversed time itself for her and have waited for her all this time?" Lysimachus asked. “When it comes to the right person, waiting centuries is worth it.”
