Fics like cancelled my plans (just in case you'd call)

Ray complies. How can he not? This is Heather Nill wearing his shirt, her fingers skirting over the line of his boxers, her breath hot against the hollow of his neck. He kisses her, soft and languidly, like he’s trying to lull her to sleep, to take some of the strings that wind her tight and unravel them, to suck the tremors right out of her mouth. Heather leans into it, desperate and eager, knows this will ground her. It’s not the best coping mechanism, but she’s young and in love and she needs this, needs him to make her feel like she’s not bursting at the seams. His touch fits her back together, at least temporarily, like the kind of glue you know won’t hold, but it will at least make it better for a little while. That’s what she needs. Just for a little while. Just so she can sleep and wake up tomorrow and face a new day. And another one. One day at a time.
