Fics like Magnets

Here’s a completely different take on Player’s Ball and how Ray and Heather may have gotten together initially (and earlier). I decided to pull this out as its own story because once I started writing it as a one-shot, it just kept pouring out, and I thought of multiple chapters. I’m not sure it really needs to be rated M – but I might make it that way in later chapters, so doing so just in case. I might change the rating to Teen and Up when I’m done. I'm calling this work "magnets" because that's what these two seem like to me - magnets that both repel and attract - ultimately the latter. ... “Are you okay?” he asked gently as she took his hand, and he helped her to her feet. Once she was upright and staring him in the face, she didn’t know what to say, and she wasn’t exactly thinking clearly given how drunk she was. Ray was mesmerized at the way she was looking at him. Like he was a hero. “Thanks to you,” she said and hugged him tightly. Ray closed his eyes and simply held her close. Her hug was more than enough thank you.
