Fics like my reputation's never been worse (you must like me for me)

Daniela groans as the thousandth slow classical song starts up through the speakers and people dressed in full black-tie attire continue to move around her, giving her a wide berth since they know who she is. Honestly, it’s been great: unlimited hors d'oeuvres, whiskey on the rocks, and a black cocktail dress that makes her feel like a million bucks, all with absolutely no interruption— “Bartender. Gimme something good,” a woman calls, sliding a tip across the table before the man even gets close to her. Daniela doesn’t know what overcomes her when she speaks, laughing in humorless commiseration. “That kind of night?” “You could say that,” her new drinking buddy mutters, and when she speaks, it’s suddenly obvious who she is. Carla. (Or, the high society AU where their reputations have never been worse, and they're exactly what the other needs.)
