Fics like A Kiss For The Dead

Ai’s been getting pretty used to odd dreams, I mean, they’ve mostly been involving fighting monsters with a pen for crying out loud! So when she decided to take a night off from her mission, she had been looking forwards to a dreamless sleep for the first time in what felt like an eternity. But… That wasn’t what happened. She feels like she just woke up, but… Someone’s next to her, a familiar someone… Someone who she’s been struggling to parse her feelings towards. And, lying here, with gentle fingers running through her hair and warm whispers in her ear, those feelings muddy even more. “I don’t understand what on Earth they must be thinking, you’re beautiful, your eyes, your smile… Everything.” Whispers the voice she hadn’t heard in what felt like ages, breath ghosting over her skin, warm and gentle. She wants to cry. She wants to wake up. She wants to stay in this lovely dream … But she just holds Koito tighter instead.
