Fics like Dog of the military

"Maybe we had all kinds of family in Ishval, uncles and aunts and cousins and grandparents.” “What do they matter?” Ed muttered. “It wasn’t like any of them showed up to help when she got sick. Or when she died. We were all by ourselves, we don’t owe them anything.” Al looked at him for a long, terrible, drawn out moment before he said, very carefully: “Ed. Maybe they didn’t show up because they were dead.” Trisha Elric was Ishvalan, and her sons are born with brown skin and red eyes. In some ways, this changes nothing - they still attempt human transmutation, they still join the millitary in their search of a way to get their bodies back, but this time the Ishvalan genocide and the crimes of Amestris are not secrets to be discovered, but an ever present thread interwoven with their lives.
