Fics like if my heart is a grenade
Buck smiles at him, a wobbly, terrified thing. “Your number,” he clarifies, eyes flicking between Eddie’s. “I lost it. I didn’t— I didn’t mean to ghost you. After the games.” “Don’t move,” Eddie tells him, voice low. “Just… just stay still, Buck.” “I know you think I’m young, and—and stupid,” Buck says, voice wavering. “But I wouldn’t… I wouldn’t do that to you. I really liked you, Eddie. That night was— it was good. The best.” “Buck,” Eddie rasps, fingers trembling. “You’re…” “I’m on a pressure plate.” Buck glances at the grenade on the wall, eyes darting away just as quickly as they landed. He smiles wryly, looking braver than most people Eddie’s ever known. “I know.” Or: Eddie moves to Los Angeles a year after sleeping with Buck at the Firefighter Games. It’s totally unrelated to Buck. The fact he joins the 118 is also unrelated to Buck, he swears.
