Fics like School Run

Pressing down on the pushchair break with her foot, Natalie reached into her bag with her free hand before the strap slid off her shoulder and into the crook of her elbow. “Oh for gods sake-” “Can I hold anything?” Leon offered, knowing how inconvenient it could be to have to juggle about five things at once. “Oh my god yes, thank-you, could you-” Instead of handing over a bag or her phone, she just handed him the crying baby without a second thought. “Oh.” Leon managed to get out as he took it, not really having much of a choice. The baby looked up at him as he was unceremoniously handed over and there was a few moments of quiet before either of them reacted. “Hi.” Brain clicking back into place, Leon reached back through his memories to the foster homes he lived in as a kid that had had small children in it and he shifted the baby to rest more against his shoulder, supporting him how he hoped was still right.
