"You got heart, kid." Steve says. "I can see you're a good person—" "You don't know what I am." The words tumble out faster than Peter intends, almost reflexively. As soon as he hears them resonate between them, he feels an unpleasant pang in his chest. Bitterness, anger, hopelessness. He can taste his own misery like salt in the air. "You're right, I don't know you." Steve admits with exasperating calm, taking a step forward. "But I know Tony brought you here. I know how he operates. He filled your head with speeches about law and order so you'd fight his battle. But this is not your fight, son." Peter almost laughs. Or: BDN!Peter ends up stranded in the past, during the airport fight. He kicks Team Cap's ass.
