Fics like The Weight of a Letter

"What if they made a mistake? I don't think I know how to be a good captain." Mack hears the words tumble out of his mouth before he's even made the conscious decision to speak them. He can feel the way his shoulders tense up under Will's hand as he registers his deepest fear spoken between them, the one thing he's been trying not to voice ever since the front office approached him. ---- Mack finally processes the fact that he's been made captain and has a few too many feelings about it. Luckily, Will is there to catch him as he spirals.
