Fics like Blood and Bondage

The case of the "Velvet Binder" should have been closed three days ago. The unsub is dead, buried under six feet of concrete in a basement that still smells like copper and rot. But for Sergeants Tim Bradford and Lucy Chen, the case isn't over just because the cuffs are on. It’s in the way the shadows stretch too long in the hallway of the precinct. It’s in the smell of the cheap coffee that suddenly reeks of formaldehyde. Now, they are off the clock, but sleep is a luxury neither can afford. Lucy’s apartment feels too big, the silence too loud. Tim’s place is a cage of memories. It starts with the shaking. It starts with the need to feel something other than the phantom touch of a killer on their skin. It escalates into a desperate, clawing need to overwrite the horror with something vital, something raw and undeniably real. This isn't about romance. This is about survival. It’s about Lucy needing to be held down to feel safe, and Tim needing to be the one doing the holding to feel like he has any control left in the world. It’s about the bite of cold metal against warm wrists, the rough scrape of stubble against a neck, and the punishing rhythm that finally drowns out the screams in their heads.
