Fics like Tim Drake and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Magical Childhood

Tim Drake is five when he discovers magic, six when he realizes Gotham is alive, and nine when the city warns him that Robin is going to die. So Tim does the obvious thing: befriends Jason Todd and dedicates himself to keeping him alive. It doesn't work. Jason dies. Gotham grieves. Tim inherits enough ancient magic to terrify people who actually know what they're doing, and Bruce makes him Robin largely to stop him from murdering the Joker. Then Jason comes back from the dead, furious about being replaced, only to discover his replacement is his childhood best friend—now trained by Batman, Lady Shiva, and John Constantine, magically claimed by Gotham, and absolutely delighted to see him. Or: Tim Drake becomes Gotham's favorite little magician. This is everyone else's problem.
