Fics like Puzzle Hearts

Morty Z-456 was raised by his Rick after a car accident took away the rest of his family when he was 5 years old. After healing in the hospital Morty was released to his grandfather’s care, and sometimes he wonders if the last 9 years were just a slower way of killing him. Perhaps the accident would’ve been a kinder way to go. Rick N-544 lost both his wife and daughter to a drunk driver when his little girl was only eight, leaving him with no family and no knowledge of one until a random version of himself tries to sell him a pitch about joining The Citadel. He visits only once, the sight of all those versions of himself with family, with grandchildren, burned something in a heart he long thought dead. A chance encounter will fix the grave mistake, and an injustice, of the universe by putting these two pieces together.
