Fics like Your Reflection in the Waves, I Saw Me

It's his first time dealing with the Kyuubi festival since he was moved out of the orphanage when, while on a grocery run, Naruto runs into some angry, drunk villagers who attack him. Naruto retreats and stumbles into a library where he stays at first because it's safe, but slowly he ends up enjoying his time learning while hiding away and becomes determined to become a smart and strong ninja. As the years pass, he goes through the academy only to learn that seeming smart makes people fear him more, so he needs to hide it until he can prove that he's more than they see. Prove that he's not some monster but that he's a son of Uzushio and the friend of Kurama. And gaining friends along the way certainly makes it easier to handle.
