Fics like sun bleached flies

"You humiliated me, Eastwood. Made a fool outta me, disrespected my authority, convinced folks that I'm simple. Now, I've gotta show the good people of Hill Valley what happens when they disrespect Buford Tannen before anybody else gets a funny idea." Deadpan, he remarks, "You did this to yourself, kidder." Impending doom has finally dawned on him; he's up against the universe itself, stranded in an unfamiliar time period, his only friend out of commission. Marty has gotten home against all odds before, though the cave of his chest hollows and his airways seem to close with the breathless realisation that this time there may be no way out. I can't die here, Marty uselessly introspects. He can't let himself die without saying goodbye to his family, to Jenn, to Doc. (or: the train derails, leaving doc and marty stranded in 1885. when buford tannen returns to tie up loose ends, marty is faced with the reality that he may not escape this timeline unscathed — if at all.)
