Fics like the world sets the rules (and yet you still love me anyways)

The world is built on a set of rules, at least where Hiccup is from. Some rules are obvious: don't get eaten by a dragon, and don't fall off your dragon. Others are more ingrained in their tribe, such as the strong goes with the strong, and the weak get the scraps. Unluckily for Hiccup, it seems his heart hasn't figured that out, because what right does he have to love Jack Frost, the most powerful person they have in their tribe, when Hiccup is one of the weakest? He wishes he could get it in his head that Jack can't love him back. He wishes Jack could. Or: Hiccup is dumb and oblivious, and Jack has to actually be the mature one. Featuring rule-breaking, emotional exhaustion, and Toothless being the best dragon ever.
