“I want to court you,” Pau looked back at him, something raw flickering through his green irises. The words didn’t register fast. Then, they did. The implications of it, of what Pau was offering so easily. The help he desperately needed like it meant nothing for him. Pau still liked him. Heartbeats increased. And Lamine felt his body go warm, swayed giddily with the promise of something better, of someone who could actually respect him. Immediately, he took a step back from it all. He was high, not stupid. “Oh,” he tried to react nonchalantly after thirty seconds. “Nah, don’t… worry about it.” Lamine presents and the world changes for him overnight. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, he doesn’t think, he acts. Pau’s job is to get Lamine out of it all alive and offer him what no one else has: freedom… should be easy, right?
