Fics like I won't forget your address

“You can choose one person to receive all your correspondence, they can distribute the letters,” Sands answers, but Buck’s eyes are once again focused on Eddie. “Good thing I lived in your house, I won’t forget your address,” he tries to joke, but instead of a laugh, Buck gets a devastated smile on his best friend’s face in return. Eddie brings his hand to Buck’s cheek, and to put it frankly he doesn’t have the mental capacity to think about how good it feels, how safe, and warm, and so goddamn home his best friend makes him feel. “Even in a war zone?” Eddie whispers, every other person in the room disappearing for two seconds as they look into each other’s eyes. “Especially in a war zone,” Buck answers, and it sounds like a promise. Or, Buck gets deployed, he writes letters while Eddie journals and crashes tf out
