Fics like The Show Must Go On

The arena didn't allow for a curtain call, but Scott had always known how to exit a stage. When a Champion dies for the final time, they don't return to the Underworld. Instead, they become ghosts... mere fragmented shadows of their former selves. Scott was the first to die, but he's fine with it. He'd always known that he was never going to win, and the way he becomes a spirit afterwards just makes all his worries flow away with the winds. It's rather pleasant really, especially since he could continue to watch over all his favorite actors. But for some reason... Nikos and Abolish seem upset? Scott tries to soothe his former lovers, unaware that his lingering presence is only a bitter reminder of the life they were robbed of. A love that had bloomed so brightly and taken root far too deep to ever truly be forgotten. And yet... the show must go on.
