Fics like No Script for Surviving

When Scott's throat is sliced open on stage, the crowd does what they always do. They applaud. To them, his desperate choking is a masterclass in acting. To Scott, it's the terrifying end. But before the darkness can claim him, two men that no one would expect jump on stage. One is Nikos, a fierce foreigner whose land had been conquered, and Abolish, a retired gladiator turned blacksmith. They work in tandem, Abolish fighting off the guards as Nikos brings Scott back from the depths of Hades with a potion shared through a kiss. The two men should've been instantly praised and adored. Instead, they're imprisoned and slotted for execution – everyone believing that THEY are the ones who had tried to kill Scott. Maybe it would be 'smart' to just let them rot, but Scott refuses. Even if it goes against the script, he will find a way to free and repay his handsome saviors. ...and if a few more twists - romantic and dangerous - happen to be thrown in along the way? Well, Scott had always been one for a good show. (AKA: An AU where there is no Death Game and they're all living in the same time period.)
