“Sure.” Zoey finds herself saying. “We can talk. Wanna start with you two causing the end of the world?” Mystery’s lips twist unhappily. Baby lets out an audible breath. “Yeah, okay, fair shot. Not our best moment.” “If that’s ‘Not your best’, I’d hate to see what your worst one is.” “What if I told you,” Baby continues, ignoring that comment, “Mystery and I wanted to undo it all. To dethrone Gwi-Ma.” Zoey stares down at him, eyes narrowed. “I’d assume you’re full of shit.” “Not even a little.” Baby insists. “Full loyalty to you and your cause. Insider information. Allies who can put up a good fight against any demons you come across. And we don’t even use up any of your resources.” She wants to throttle him, but Mystery hasn’t dropped his hand, threatening to dig his claws in the second she tries to. “Why would you want to do that?” Zoey asks instead, not hiding her open disbelief at the idea. They won, why would they want to go back? (Or months after Gwi-Ma wins, Zoey finds herself teaming up with Mystery and Baby of all people. It seems she’s not the only one who didn’t like the outcome of the final battle.)
