Fics like let your heart be your guide

He thought about Obi-Wan. He thought about the way Obi-Wan looked at him sometimes—soft, almost wistful, like he was seeing something fragile. He thought about the way Obi-Wan said his name, like it meant something. Like he mattered. He thought about how badly he wanted to tell him. And he thought about how he couldn’t. He’d lose Obi-Wan’s trust, his respect, everything. He’d be shipped off to some remote outpost, or worse, he’d be stuck here, in the Temple, with Obi-Wan looking at him with pity or disgust instead of pride. Anakin squeezed his eyes shut. “I’m fine,” he whispered to the empty room. “It’s fine. It was nothing.” It was not nothing. Written for Topwan Week(s) Day 7: Free Day
