Fics like Under Another Sun

Lex Luthor’s plan to kill Superman with an artificial red sun should have ended with Kal-El dead. Instead, Kara Zor-El gets there first. Twenty-one, fresh out of college, and still years away from becoming Supergirl, Kara has spent most of her life on Earth pretending she doesn’t miss Krypton as much as she does. Lena Luthor is a brilliant young scientist still trying to believe her brother hasn’t become the monster everyone says he is. Then Lex kidnaps them both. Lena shuts down the red sun. Kara takes a Kryptonite bullet meant for her. And by the time the night is over, Lena knows two things no one else does: Superman has a cousin. And her name is Kara Zor-El. Three years before Kara Danvers ever puts on a cape, Lena Luthor becomes the first person outside Kara’s family to know the woman beneath the human name. A rewrite of Supergirl beginning before Season One, with comic-inspired Kara Zor-El, a slower Supercorp relationship, and a Lena who knows Kara’s secret from the very beginning.
