“Buck’s on your file.” Eddie suggests, shrugging like it’s a given. Apples grow from trees, the sky is blue, and Buck is on Christopher's school file as his second parent. “Yeah Dad, I know.” Christopher scoffs, annoyed he even has to explain this. “He picks me up without having to go through that whole process because he’s my emergency contact. Mr. Smith said no Emergency contacts, only parents.” Christopher takes a grape, shoving it in his mouth. He’s clearly misunderstood what Eddie is trying to say. “He’s on the file as your other Dad.” Eddie mutters, under his breath. He feels a faint pink to his cheeks, like he is admitting something embarrassing he did. And all things considered, it kind of is. Any sane, straight man would never add their work best friend as the second father of their child on the school's form. It’s a good thing Eddie is neither sane nor straight. Christopher picks his head up from the table and spits out his grape.
