Fics like just for a moment (let’s be still)

Nico had no idea how long he’d been lying there, mind looping down the same vicious spiral over and over again, muscles refusing to relax into the softness of the sheets, when he heard a tentative knock at the door. He knew who it was, instantly. He hadn’t been sure Gabi would come, this time. He’d been skittish all evening, congratulating Nico for his finish in the points, big round eyes watching Nico like he wanted to say something else, before stepping away again with a final hurried look back, hovering close by his trainer for the rest of the night. Or, Gabi stops by Nico’s hotel room, after that crazy save at the Dutch Grand Prix.
