Fics like Chocolate

Jim found his first officer in the observation lounge, sprawled flat on his back on the deck like he'd been poured there, one arm flung over his stomach and the other trailing loose against the carpet. For one bad second Jim's heart lurched into his throat and he was halfway across the room before his brain caught up with his eyes and told him that Commander Spock was not injured. Commander Spock was smiling. It was the smallest thing. A softening around the eyes, the corner of his mouth tucked up in a way that would have been imperceptible to anyone who hadn't spent the last several weeks studying that face across a command chair. There was a smear of chocolate at the corner of Spock's mouth, and an empty wrapper resting on his chest, rising and falling with his breathing, and the stars were sliding by silent and endless through the viewport above him, and Spock was watching them with the kind of unguarded, open wonder that belonged to someone half his age, or someone who had never expected to be allowed to see this at all. -- Or, the six times Spock indulged in chocolate.
