Fics like Necrosis

Jeremy Willis was on his way to college. Jane Doe was returning from another one of his delusional "campaigns" against the Nazis. Mikhail "Misha" Rosvolov had just immigrated from Siberia in search of work. Tavish DeGroot had arrived in America hoping to build a better life. Dell Conagher was traveling to a Mann Co. science conference. Dr. Ludwig Humboldt had fled Germany in hopes of starting over after losing his medical license. Mick Mundy and Jacques Beaumont DeLacroix were simply passing through after separate mercenary contracts. And somewhere in the forgotten maintenance corridors of the airport, a homeless soul known only as Pyro was trying to stay warm. None of them knew one another. Then the infection began. As panic consumed the airport, the nine strangers repeatedly crossed paths while fleeing the growing horde. What started as chance encounters soon became reluctant cooperation, then trust, and eventually something far stronger. For five months, they crossed a ruined America, scavenging abandoned towns, defending one another, mourning those they lost, and slowly becoming experts at surviving the impossible.
