Fics like O is for Origami

It has been years since Lucifer has reconnected with his childhood friend, Alastor. Between his exhausting shifts at Ozzie’s bar, trying to make child support on time, and crippling depression, he’s barely keeping his own life together. When Alastor suffers severe injury, Lucifer drops everything to come to his aid. The decision to stay and help his best friend recuperate is a simple one, but Alastor certainly doesn’t see it that way. Alastor is strong and independent, someone who balks at charitable assistance from others, so when he finds himself nearly blinded and crippled from an accident he finds the adjustment difficult–to say the least. Suddenly he is under the care of his childhood best friend, dredging up long buried emotions and memories that he doesn’t want to unpack. Their bonds deepen through an unexpected source: the little origami cranes Lucifer folds to cheer Alastor up. Legend has it that folding one thousand of these little cranes can grant a wish, so the pair decide to take on the challenge in a journey of healing and reconnection.
