Fics like Pugio

The air up here is cool—sharp and crisp against her windpipe, weightless and clean within her lungs. An ambrosial respite compared to the suffocating smog down below. Gotham has never looked more beautiful. Blurred strips of light flashing past on the winding roads, small dots blinking in and out of life through building windows. She realises she likes watching all this, from a distance. A fraction of the weathered concrete floor breaks apart and tumbles down to the ground in debris, betraying a change in weight and the presence of another. “Don't you fucking dare grapple me down, or I swear to God—” Batman holds his hands up in a show of acquiescence, wisely keeping still even as the wind plays at his cape. Or, Batman talks a gothamite out of ending their life. Bruce Wayne is, unintentionally, the light of many gothamite's lives.
