Fics like futile devices

“What happened?” Lestat murmurs. “What did they do to you?” Louis stands up at that, still holding Lestat’s hand. The screaming outside fades. Lestat can’t even hear the knocking on the windows anymore. No, because then Louis is closing the curtains behind them and settling into his lap, one knee on either side of his hips. Because then Lestat has one palm spread against the small of Louis’ back, Louis cupping his face with loving hands, and their foreheads touch. Lestat forgets what he’d asked. Quiet. “I’ll tell you later,” Louis murmurs. “Let me just have this, for now.” - Or: after the events of 3x07, Louis and Lestat deal with the aftermath of their decapitation, a concert, the end of the world and, somehow, find their way back to each other.
