Fics like I'll be Good [Love the world like I should]

He still goes to the meeting. Greets Copley with a self-deprecating smile, and tells him that if anyone lays a single finger on the Old Guard he will burn down everything Copley has ever stood for. He then orders a coffee for the both of them and gets to planning. Copley is as easy to turn as he suspects, his grief dulling his sense of morality, but not enough for the man to completely forgo his convictions. He tells him of the path of blood that will await him if they go down this path. That Merrick is willing to go to greater lengths than either of them want to imagine but it ends now. Willful naivety could not, would not excuse their actions up to this point but even the damned can try and reach towards heaven. Or Booker finds himself transported back in time to the hotel room where it all began, and is determined to make up for his mistakes. With Copley by his side, he is cleaning up all the loose ends his action brought about, and is preparing to get rid of the biggest threat, himself, at the end. But will the Old Guard let this happen?
