Fics like way out, way out

“I want to leave. To vanish. To run away from here, from— from Oz,” she said, her desperate, tear-filled eyes wide while she stared. He swallowed dry through the knot on his throat, trying not to show his feelings regardless of how big they were. No one in the world deserved peace more than Elphaba, and no one deserved more to be away from everythi— “And I want you to come with me,” she breathed suddenly, whilst Fiyero was still processing her previous words. or, Elphaba grew up in silence. Always one step behind her own story, a forgotten figure in the corners of an absent memory, where no one else remembered her name with the love it deserved, with the face she had, with the truth she ought to carry. It took losing everything – even her name – for her, at last, to desire something just for herself. When she decides to run away, she resolves to take only what is necessary: her scars, the laughter of those she once loved, and Fiyero's heart, that always belonged to her.
