Fics like 42 Oak Creek

Spencer leaned his forehead against Aaron’s shoulder, a breathless laugh escaping him. “God, you’re insufferable.” “And you,” Aaron countered, pulling back just enough to look at him with a gaze that made Spencer feel entirely seen, “Are going to be the death of me.” They stood there for a beat longer than necessary, the domestic bliss of a Thursday night in a quiet house settling over them like a blanket. It was a fleeting, perfect moment of ‘us,’ and as Spencer turned back to the cutting board, the ring on his finger - the fake one, the prop, the shield - felt less like a piece of jewelry and more like a promise he wasn’t entirely sure he wanted to break. ---- or, Spencer and Aaron go undercover as an engaged couple with Jack as their son. But the close proximity reminds Spencer and Aaron of their feelings together, and pretending to be a couple allows them to cross lines.
