Fics like You're Counting All Your Sheep in Disguise

Disappearances keep rising, not just in Gotham, but in Metropolis and Central City and... All across the globe. The Justice League form a plan, but Superman keeps getting distracted. The sounds of cries for help are overwhelming and never-ending. In Gotham, Red Hood and Nightwing team up after some radio silence and choose to investigate some store with way too high electricity bills for the area, and hear a woman screaming. Huh... The pirate hat that is halfway through the ground is just a joke, right? And when two of his children go missing, and when Superman stops responding to comms, Batman is left to find the pieces. So much for being the "World's greatest detective", because there's no traces of anything! ... Aside for some new sketchy MRI company starting to open in more and more buildings globally. But that's probably nothing, right?
