Fics like One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

David looks at Star, the same disapproving frown still plastered on her face. How many times have they had this same conversation? “You love her, right?” “Are you for real?” Michael sputters. We just met. David smiles. It’s that human sense of scale. The belief that there’s a right order to things, a point in time when it becomes acceptable to know what you want out of life. Ridiculous. David knew he loved Star the moment she pushed him from that billboard, knew he wanted Michael the second that punch connected with his nose. OR Eventual canon divergence focusing heavily on the relationship between Star/David/Michael and all associated messiness.
