Fics like A Virtue's Paradiso: Contemplations of a Lesser Angel

Our story follows Isaiah, a priest who had perished during the last days of the Final War, his virtues and servitude to the Lord granting him salvation from the sin of being human. Having been a Virtue living in Luna - Heaven's lowest ring - for the last couple of decades, Paradise itself seems to have become routine. The Council's rule is absolute, any deviation from the Word punished with prejudice. It's only when the cosmic order is upheaved with the disappearance of Humanity that things finally seem to shake up in the Divine. Unrest is brewing. Angels are disappearing. Machines have been reported entering Hell. Even the Judge of Hell Gabriel seems nervous behind closed doors. All the while, the Council tightens its hold on Heaven's residents, determined to keep the illusion of flame(and their position) alive. A fire that had gone out a long, long time ago.
