Fics like Jujutsu Kaisen: 4th of July

"This is so cool!" Nobara yelled, bouncing on the balls of her feet, her earlier annoyance forgotten. Satoru's grin was manic as he lifted his other hand, fingers already starting their deadly convergence. Utahime saw the faintest wisp of violet light begin to gather. "Don't you dare use Purple-!" she yelled, pure terror widening her eyes. She threw herself forward, grabbing his wrist with both hands, trying desperately to wrench it down. Kusakabe, who had been watching with mounting horror, ran a palm slowly down his face, his expression one of profound despair. His two fingers touched. Violet energy swirled around his fingertips. Horror crossed her face. Kusakabe flinched. Nanami froze. Purple hovered for a moment, the soft glow of cursed energy illuminating their faces before it winked out of existence. Silence descended, thick and heavy, broken only by the distant cheers of the crowd below and Panda's shaky exhale. Satoru looked down at his fingers, then at Utahime, who was still clinging white-knuckled to his wrist. He tilted his head. "Huh. Must have misfired." He patted her hand still clamped on his arm. And then he released purple into the sky. "Oops."
