Fics like R.E.M.

Living together in a small town on the edge of an old growth forest, Jazz and Prowl pass their down time doing amateur ghost hunting. Investigating abandoned buildings, disused roads and the homes of the superstitious, the paranormal investigators have never found anything more dangerous than black mold. Nevertheless, it makes for some light fun and a good excuse to go exploring. One night, the duo investigate the woods outside a gas station, where strange lights sway through the trees and uncanny groans echo into the night. Assuming bored, underpaid night shift gas station workers are to be believed. At 1:32 AM, the gas station cameras show the paranormal investigators pull in, speak with the employee inside, and then walk past the dumpster behind the building on foot, armed with two flashlights and a camera. At 2:41 AM, the gas station cameras show the two men from before tearing out of the woods, camera and a flashlight now missing, jump into their car and then speed away from the scene. At 4:04 AM, the gas station cameras show two deprecated vehicles driving down the same road. A police car, closely followed by a Porsche.
