Fics like NOT THE FACEPLATE

There is a cultural trope shared in the Vos-Praxus region: a sufficiently jealous mech will claw off the faceplate of their perceived rival. Although rooted in reality, it's way less common than the soap operas and daytime dramas would let you believe. And even if you don't watch any long-winded Praxian productions where the third of the events is bots clawing each other's faces off, you just know as the sun is in the sky and Primus is below that going for the faceplates with claws is something jealous Seekers and Praxians do. Prowl hates the stereotype. He hates the soap operas and the daytime TV programming. He would like everyone to know that he never ever used his claws on someone's face, much less tried to take it off. Until one fine cycle someone tries to flirt with Jazz.
