Fics like The Sonorous Dark

“When they played in the caves, they were not Elwing-Elrond-Elros, mother and sons. They were three refugee children pretending to be ordinary children, feral in salt-stained clothes and their foremother's wide, watchful eyes. Up and down the shoreline, caves like these were claimed by Sirion's young to play in, designed, occupied and defended by children who understood that space you could call yours was temporary, that you took it when you found it and could lose it any time.“ Elwing cares little for the forests of Valinor.
