Fics like The Ashes of Courtesy

Returning to Crane lands not to investigate, nor to pursue the Hollow Lords, the cadre arrives to witness Doji Hoshin undertake his gempukku. Yet at the Kakita Academy by the Sea, they find that danger is not done with them. Here it takes new forms. Not monsters. Not battlefields. But the pressure of family, clan, and politics. Rivalries, old grudges, and wounds tear at the seams while samurai smile through their teeth. And new allies are revealed as the struggle against darkness grows beyond the small cadre. What was supposed to be a few weeks of normalcy quickly twists into politics, shadow games, and the hidden knives of courtesy. For Koji, the return forces him to face his uncle for the first time in over a year. Fuma faces the cost of his choices. Tsuya must grapple with what this struggle is taking from her. Tora faces a place never meant for a man like him. And Kirigaya must face her most dangerous enemy of all. Her family. Under it all, the Hollow Lords’ claws reach from the abyss. And they are starting to close.
