“Buck, you give so much of yourself to everyone else, sometimes I don’t think you even realize you do it. You give so much of yourself away that sometimes I worry that you forget to save some for yourself” Eddie said, voice shaking slightly. Buck felt his breath hitch, he wanted to ask more questions, but he couldn’t find his voice, so instead he simply sat and listened. “Sometimes, I worry that… I worry that you’ll spend so much time trying to save everybody else, that you’ll end up forgetting to save yourself somewhere along the way. And I… I can’t stand the thought of losing you like that. I hate the thought of doing this alone, doing this without… you” Eddie said. OR: An alternative version of Buck and Eddie's journey home from Nashville; they get into an argument, become separated and both have to face up to some honest truths about how they feel about each other. Angsty with a little bit of fluff and humour injected throughout; this is a canon divergent re-telling where the kidnapping doesn't happen, but there is still plenty of tension to unpack and jeopardy to contend with.
