Fics like Stormy Night

The storm is picking up. They lift their head and watch darkened clouds roll in overhead, threatening with the promise of some much needed droplets accompanied by blinding, deafening light. “Why'd we stop, Phanty?” a soft, pleasant voice asks beside them. Their gaze turns to their sister, sitting beside them and looking up at them with big, trusting eyes like those of a fawn. She wags her tail a little, feeling the breeze ruffle through her thicker, fluffier fur. They look back up at the sky. “There is a storm coming,” they finally say, “we should find some shelter to rest while it runs its course,” --- Forced to travel the plains after being chased away by their mother, Phantom and Lace are caught in an approaching storm.
