Fics like A Hero in Plain Sight

It has been eight years since Link helped bring Ganondorf to justice, for good this time. Besides the occasional mission the Queen sends him on, The Hero of Time has fully retired, his identity unknown to the populace. Every now and then, someone will remember the title given to a mysterious soldier and rumours and gossip will sweep through Castle Town again. It only ever lasts a few days. The constant chatter and conspiracy theories. The recruits with more ego than sense claiming to be the man beneath the custom helmet, in some asinine grab for popularity from their peers, before reality swiftly humbles them. The people who say the truth with a confidence that makes Link’s hair stand on end, because no one but the Queen, her right-hand woman and his wife should know such details. Link doesn’t let it worry him as it used to. No one would ever expect the humble husband to Lon Lon Ranch’s new owner to be the same man who struck down the Demon King. So why does this group of eight mysterious swordsmen, asking a familiar question, catch his attention?
