Fics like a soft place to fall

The night stretches outside, and Lestat starts tracing lines against Louis’ thigh. It’s tender at first, only a faint touch. He watches— eyes intent on Louis’ face, looking for his reaction. Then he cups him on top of his pants. Louis stops him with a gentle hand on his wrist. “Not tonight,” he breathes. “Soon. But not tonight.” Lestat eyes him with confusion. “Why?” Louis answers with a knowing look and a sweet kiss. Their lips meet so softly, so gently, it almost makes Louis cry. “Because you don’t need to please me to be loved,” he finally says against Lestat’s mouth, heart on his throat. Lestat freezes. “Let me hold you.”
