Fics like i cut off my nose (just to spite my face)

Back then, Max had been a phenomenon. A headline. A star that burned bright from somewhere far, far away. Something meant to be looked at. Now it feels like history is repeating itself, only this time it’s decided to push George directly into the vertex. This time, he’s in the damn way. Kimi’s first win is inevitable, he knows this. Call him psychic (or just unwell), but he can feel it in his bones, in the way the earth shifts ever so slightly whenever Kimi’s around. It’s like a tsunami; except it’s only rushing toward one thing: George. And George— Well. He isn’t sure if he’ll survive. or: George Russell and his never-ending cycle of self-sabotage and unfortunately surviving heartbreak. The post-Chinese GP, pre-Miami character study no one asked for.
