The first time he noticed it, he was a mere child still learning how to walk without toppling over his own two feet. An intricately designed ace of spades is etched with blue ink, contrasting against his pale skin. It was foreign to him, yet he stroked it softly, entranced with how beautiful it looked under the subtle shine filtering in from the window. When the pads of his fingers skimmed over the mark however, he immediately felt a surge of warmth which enveloped him like a tight hug. Marks show up as symbols of your soulmate. So what if your soulmate is a prisoner, and by sheer coincidence you are one too?
