Fics like The Grace Period

Ryland Grace saved Earth, he saved Erid. He was supposed to die a hero somewhere between the stars. Or at least he should have, if not for a certain Eridian who has taken a great offense to the short, finite nature of human life. Instead of cherishing the limited time left, Erid reworked the foundation of what was considered scientifically possible—they found a way to turn their resident alien into an Eridian. But operating a whole new body-plan is not as easy as it may seem. or Grace learning to be an Eridian ☀︎ ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ ◎ For once, Rocky didn’t comment on my leaking face. Didn’t call me gross or make fun of me otherwise. So I did it for him. “Yeah,” I sniffed, half-laughing through it. “Humans leak, ew.” Because, well— This might be the last time I ever cried. “No, Grace leak as much as want. Is okay!” Rocky rushed in immediately, all urgency and overlapping chords. “Well, you weren’t going to, so someone else had to do it.” He paused. “No understand. Is joke, question?” “Yeah,” I said, sniffling a little. “It’s a joke.” “Still no understand humor.”
